Heaven and Earth — Ink Paintings
In preparation for the Chinese Year of the Dragon, I have collaborated with the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in creating a pair of monumental ink paintings entitled Heaven and Earth. This work is inspired by the collections at ROM, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. I am thrilled that they will be exhibited at Royal Ontario Museum from January 23, 2024 to October 31, 2024. I want to give a big shout-out and thanks to photographer Amanda Guerra who captured the images of Heaven and Earth. It has been an amazing experience working on these paintings for the last year and a half, and I am grateful for the support of Dr. Wen-chien Cheng, Senior Curator and Louise Hawley Stone Chair of Chinese Arts, and her colleagues, and to my family for their endless encouragement and support.

New Work - “Unyielding”
Last year, I visited the Huntington Garden in San Marino. I had a wonderful time studying the foliage and beauty around me but one pine tree stuck out in particular. I made a few sketches and one of them developed into a painting, which I titled “Unyielding”. I hope you will enjoy seeing it!
